Toolpath planning optimization for end milling of free-form surfaces using a clustering algorithm

چکیده

A two-step approach to address the toolpath planning optimization problem is introduced. The first step divides surface into zones with similar local geometric properties in order improve efficiency of tool-path algorithms. To do this, an unsupervised clustering algorithm (like K-means) used on a mesh defined by isoparametric curves. second applies each zone, according its optimal machining direction. This direction calculated using blackbox software. final goal enhance gradually formulation obtain better and results.

An Optimization K-Modes Clustering Algorithm with Elephant Herding Optimization Algorithm for Crime Clustering

The detection and prevention of crime, in the past few decades, required several years of research and analysis. However, today, thanks to smart systems based on data mining techniques, it is possible to detect and prevent crime in a considerably less time. Classification and clustering-based smart techniques can classify and cluster the crime-related samples. The most important factor in the c...

Computing Cutter Engagement Values in Milling Tessellated Free-Form Surfaces

High speed milling (HSM) has great potential use in die/mold cutting, but traditional machining plans do exploit HSM capabilities effectively. An important consideration for in HSM is to limit cutting force variations, and one way to do so is to reduce Cutter-Workpiece engagement (CWE) variations. CWE is measured as the area of the tool instantaneously engaged with the part. Estimating CWE as a...

An Instantaneous Rigid Force Model For 3-Axis Ball-End Milling Of Sculptured Surfaces

An instantaneous rigid force model for prediction of cutting forces in ball-end milling of  sculptured surfaces is presented in this paper. A commercially available geometric engine is used to represent the cutting edge, cutter and updated part geometries. The cutter used in this work is an insert type ball-end mill. Intersecting an inclined plane with the cutter ball nose generates the cutting...
